Five Dollar Shake secures ‘Hollywood’ license

Handmade card specialist, Five Dollar Shake (5$S), is launching its first-ever licensed range of cards.

The new designs feature the artwork of William Travilla, who was responsible for designing some of the most famous dresses in film history. From Marilyn's iconic white dress from The Seven Year Itch to private couture pieces for Audrey Hepburn.

Now, Travilla's original illustrations have found the light of day and the Oscar-winning designer will be getting the Five Dollar Shake treatment with a range of cards featuring crystals, sequins and glitter. A range of everyday cards and a set of boxed notelets will make up the initial launch with wrap to follow.

“Everybody at Five Dollar Shake felt very privileged and not just a little in awe when Marilyn's original gold lame dress was unveiled to us at our offices last week,” says 5$S chief, Matt Genower. “To quote Marilyn from the film Some Like it Hot ~ "my spine turned to custard...I got goosebumps all over!". The dress had a real sense of gravitas and if we can, we are going to arrange for one or two pieces to be available on our stand at the NEC.
