Glebe Cottage Shortlisted for National Eco- Award.

Glebe Cottage has just discovered that its one of 30 UK companies to be short listed for a BCE Environmental Leadership Award.

The publisher has been blazing a trail for a more eco-friendly card industry since 2006 when it was the first card publisher to introduce compostable bags. Glebe Cottage then went on to became the first DtR publisher to hold an FSC chain of custody and the first to become CarbonNeutral©.

The Business Commitment to the Environment (BCE) Environmental Leadership Awards are the longest running, and one of the most prestigious, environmental awards in the UK. They provide a unique opportunity for any business to demonstrate clearly that corporate responsibility is as an integral part of their organisation and that they are innovative and ahead of the competition.

“We have always tried to put the environment at the heart of how we make our products,” said director Susanna Morrish. “So we are delighted to have been short listed for a BCE Environmental leadership award. We know competition for this award is very tough, so to get through to the last thirty is a real achievement!”
The judges will now visit Glebe Cottage’s new premises in Newton Abbot to undertake the final part of the environmental assessment and final winners will be announced in April. Previous winners of BCE awards include Co-op, Sainsbury's and Innocent Drinks.

Glebe Cottage will be exhibiting over 150 new eco-friendly cards, and will be launching its new 2010 brochure, at the Spring Fair Hall 3 P21.
