Countdown to Home and Gift: Seminars & Surgeries

With fewer than 5 days to go, visitors to the 50th Home and Gift show in Harrogate have a lot to look forward to.

A range of free retail seminars and one to one surgeries will run over the four days with business advice to help retailers to refocus their efforts on boosting sales in the run up to the busy Christmas sales season.

Two key seminars will come from industry players, Joanna Feeley, Creative Director at Trend Bible and Paul Middlemiss, CEO of renowned gift company Pedlars.
Joanna Feeley will be forecasting the next hot new trends and in a seminar exclusive to Home & Gift visitors from 12-1pm on Tuesday 19 July. The talk highlights four popular themes and how to make them work for businesses of all sizes with detailed information on the key colours, materials and prints for home and gifts this winter. Trend Bible produce bi-annual trend publications for the home interior sector, and work with retailers and brands to create bespoke trend forecasts, with clients including Debenhams, Asda, Gap, Graham and Brown, Nokia and Disney.

Keynote speaker Paul Middlemiss will unlock the secrets required to becoming a world-class business at 3pm on Sunday 17 July. Having made his business Pedlars a commercial success, he shares his experiences in preceding high-profile roles as Director of Habitat, House of Fraser and as previous owner of The General Trading Company. Paul will also discuss his new venture, L-Living and the concept behind it.  The eco friendly products are hand made from reclaimed timber.  L-Living was launched in the recession, however now counts Selfridges, Bentalls and Fenwicks among its high profile customers.

Throughout the show free sessions will be held in the Home & Gift seminar theatre covering everything from ecommerce, visual merchandising and social media. For the full seminar programme visit
