Hallmark begins talks with workers over restructuring

Hallmark Cards UK has announced a new programme of strategic business realignment

The greetings card giant says it has undergone a comprehensive review of all areas of its business and as a result will be establishing a new structure. The move has prompted fears of job losses among the 450 employees of the UK operation, which is headquartered in Bradford.

As part of the reorganisation Hallmark Cards has begun a consultation process with its employees to assess the future needs of the business. Once the consultation is complete the final detail of the new structure will be announced. All employees across the organisation have been made aware of the process and will be involved, and kept up to date every step of the way, through elected representation.

Steve Wright, Hallmark Cards UK, Managing Director said: “We believe the changes we are making will give greater insight into our customers’ needs and challenges, create a  superior approach to developing and delivering exciting products and guarantee more efficient processes throughout the entire organisation to ensure a competitive and successful business for our customers, employees and stakeholders alike.

"Hallmark Cards UK, is a trusted and respected brand that is rooted in the community and has always had a strong sense of decency and quality running through every aspect of its business.  We need to ensure the organisation is in great shape to continue that tradition into an exciting future and we believe the steps we are taking now are crucial to delivering that outcome,” concluded Wright.
