The ethnic seasons are well underway!
Rosh HaShanah is great time to showcase Jewish cards
AS ONE ethnic card sending occasions finishes, the next one starts. Hot on the heels of Eid, Jewish New Year is the next festival retailers need to focus on.
Jewish New Year, also known as Rosh HaShanah, falls on September 17 this year .
“Jewish New Year is the largest card-sending occasion in the Jewish calendar” said Rajeev Arora, of Davora Ltd, the specialist card publisher, “it’s a great time for retailers to showcase other Jewish cards too, such as Bar and Bat Mitzvah, and Mazel Tov cards”.
Ethnic occasions are becoming must-have ranges for small and large retailers alike, as the UK becomes increasingly multi-cultural.
Recent estimates place the collective ethnic population at over five million or almost 10 per cent. With occasions such as Eid, Diwali and Chinese New Year routinely being taught in school curriculums, awareness of these occasions is on the increase across the UK.
One of the challenges for retailers is that the dates for many of these occasions change from year to year, so each year Davora offers a free wallplanner with all upcoming dates listed. To get yours drop an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
