Whizzpoppingly good contest
UKG joins The Times to celebrate BFG’s 30th anniversary
A SPLENDIFEROUS card is the prize in the UK Greetings and Times newspaper competition to celebrate the 30th anniversary of The BFG.
The Times is running a supplement next month to celebrate Roald Dahl’s character, who takes orphan Sophie to the land of the giants when she sees him blowing the dreams he’s caught and mixed into children’s bedrooms.
UKG is supporting the Roald Dahl Illustrate Your Dream competition for children of all ages to submit drawings of their own dreams
The prize for the winner is a goodie bag and their creation being turned into a greetings card which will be on sale exclusively at the Roald Dahl Museum And Story Centre just a short walk from the late author’s family home, Gipsy House in Great Missenden, Bucks.
All the proceeds will be split between the museum and Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity.
“UK Greetings are honoured to have been asked to produce the winner’s greetings card,” said PR coordinator Lorna Bunnell, “as well as being part of the juding panel along with his illustrator Quentin Blake.”
Camden Graphic, part of the UKG family, hold the Roald Dahl licence, bringing sone of his never-before printed works to the greetings card market.
Quentin Blake’s fantabulous, whizz-poppingly brilliant illustrations are captivating, gloriumptious and sufficiently ‘trogglehumped’, with a true literary feel.
UKG’s Roald Dahl greeting card collection has also been nominated for Best Children’s Range at the 2012 Henries Awards.
