Davora buy Jowish

Rajeev adds third brand to his leading ethnic cards portfolio

THE UK’s leading ethnic greetings card publisher Davora have today announced the purchase of Jowish which specialise in Jewish designs from the founders Jo and Danny Philips.

The acquisition adds a third brand to Davora, founded by director Rajeev Arora (pictured), after they launched the BollyXpress range of musical Bollywood cards in the UK earlier this year.
Rajeev plans to keep the Jowish brand, which has been operating for three years, dedicated to Jewish cards, while Davora will continue publishing Asian, their own range of Jewish, and other seasonal designs.
“Jo and Danny have developed strong brand recognition and a loyal following from independent retail stores” said Rajeev, who started his firm is 2005.
“The designs offered by Jowish are already well established in the Jewish community and we intend to build on the brand alongside our existing ranges, ensuring there is more choice for consumers in this niche area.”
Jo said she was pleased with the deal, adding: “Davora are market leaders in ethnic greetings cards, and we’re confident they will take Jowish to the next level.”
