Danilo win global National Gallery licence for calendars and diaries

DANILO have won the licence to produce calendars and diaries illustrated with some of the most famous paintings from the National Gallery collection.

The National Gallery Company Ltd, which operates to generate income to support the UK’s national collection of paintings, announced the award of the global licence to Danilo yesterday.
The range will be widely available in gift, greetings and stationery shops, major stores, supermarkets and online from late 2015.

Judith Mather, Buying and Merchandise Director for the National Gallery Company, said: “Calendars and diaries are an obvious market for the National Gallery licensing programme, and Danilo, with their global reach and unrivalled reputation in licensed calendar publishing, are an ideal partner.”
Danilo Licensing Director Trevor Jones added: “We’re delighted to be working with the National Gallery Company on this exciting licence. There will be a very big international market for diaries and calendars featuring some of the most famous — and best-loved — paintings in the world.”
This is the latest licence announcement following the launch by the National Gallery Company Ltd of a comprehensive, international licensing programme featuring the museum’s collection of some of the finest paintings in the world, including Monet’s Pond (pictured). Independent licensing agency JELC have been appointed to develop the campaign.
