Blend of east and west

‘Forest’ factory celebrates three years of continual growth

THREE years of blending the best of the east and west has been celebrated by The Sherwood Group at their Semplice factory in China.

The plant, in Xiegang, Guangdong, has enjoyed continual growth since opening in 2011, meeting the ambitious target of 20 per cent annual increase in sales, and now employs 150 staff supported by The Sherwood Press Hong Kong team.
A dinner was held on November 11, the third anniversary of the opening of the modern factory that manufactures greetings cards, gift bags and gift packaging –with a name in Chinese meaning Thinking and Forest.
Group CEO Jeremy Bacon said the factory was opened with the vision of blending the best of east and west to provide a global manufacturing solution to their UK customers.
He added that one of the many benefits of working with Sherwood’s Far East business is “cost-effective production and quick turnaround with a guaranteed six weeks delivery on non-handmade products.
“All production prototyping is completed by our team in the UK with the facilities to produce product samples on Chinese material, saving a considerable amount of time compared to a typical Far East workflow.”
