Greetings Today magazine, giving you the bigger picture

And the winners are…

…not telling – make a date with calendar awards to find out!

THERE was a big date for Greetings Today editor Tracey Bearton yesterday (Thursday, December 10) when she helped judge the National Calendar Awards for the second year running.

More than 360 2016 dated products were entered for the awards, with the diary category making a return as the industry recognises the continuing strength of this sector – despite the growth of smartphones and tablets!
Chris Leonard-Morgan, organiser of the London Stationery Show and National Stationery Week, was the new judge at this year’s event, joining the panel including Premier Paper’s Dave Jones, stationer Eddie Deacon, Michael Rose of Rose Calendars, Calendar Club’s Rob Dand and Christie Stapleton, Danilo designer Simon Machin, Vanessa Kramer, lately of Corbis Images, the Wynkyn De Worde society’s Becky Chilcott, and Annie Hotton.
Tracey was very proud to be asked by NCA organiser Pat Batley to be the judge responsible for the Excellence In Illustration award at the event held in Kingston.
“Some of the work was so good,” Tracey said, “it was hard to tell if it was drawn or a photograph. I do love the winner, very much on-trend and beautifully illustrated, but I’m not going to reveal it – although I know my daughter will be pleased when she finds out!”
All the winners of the 24 categories, plus the Student Awards, the Fred Kendrick Award for the best corporate calendar, and the Elephant Award for the best retail product, will be announced on Wednesday, January 27, at the presentation ceremony at Stationers Hall in London.
