Dream project for designer

Matthew Williamson licensing deal announced with M&G

CELEBRATED British designer Matthew Williamson has today (December 21) announced a brand-new licensing deal with Museums & Galleries for branded cards and gift stationery.

World-renowned for his highly-recognisable signature aesthetic, the ranges showcase patterns from Matthew’s current collections and extensive print archive of the master of print, embellishment and kaleidoscopic colour.
Museums & Galleries’ collection of Matthew Williamson greetings cards and notelets, deluxe journals and notebooks, gift wrap, gift boxes and bags, and gift tissue will be available from January 2016 and will premiere at Spring Fair in Birmingham.
Matthew Williamson said: "In a digital age, I still love sending and receiving cards, hand-writing notes and wrapping gifts so I'm thrilled to be well stocked up with some personal favourites and hope everyone enjoys them too!
“Working with Museums & Galleries has been a dream project for me. We have amassed such a strong print archive over our 20-year history and it's therefore been such a pleasure to revisit some of my favourites and re-imagine them as a luxury, yet affordable, category to our expanding lifestyle brand."
M&G Art Director Ben Dorney added: “Collaborating with Matthew Williamson on a range of licensed greetings cards and gift stationery is a tremendous coup for Museums & Galleries.
“The Matthew Williamson brand offers an incredible and evolving archive of unique prints from a world-renowned British design icon with a huge following in the worlds of fashion, social media and on the high street.
“It sits perfectly within our existing portfolio of licensed brands, complementing our key heritage licenses and bringing a whole new energy and direction to our collection.
“The results of the project itself have truly exceeded our expectations. Matthew brought an invaluable personal interest in, and understanding of, our product category and genuine commitment to the project.
“The inclusion of a new 2016 print at the core of our launch collection was also an unexpected delight. It has been exciting to see how beautifully the designs translate from fabric to paper, and we can’t wait for people to see the products at Spring Fair!”
The collection includes greetings cards, notelet wallets, journals, notebooks, mini notebooks, six giftwraps, gift bags and boxes, and tissue packs.
