Palaces promote luxury

Stationery is one of two new licences for growing programme

LUXURIOUS unique designs have been developed by Historic Royal Palaces working with the team at Distinkt Cards as they grow their licensing programme.

Historic Royal Palaces, the independent charity that cares for the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, Banqueting House, Kensington Palace, Kew Palace and Hillsborough Castle, have signed two new licences – Distinkt for stationery and Ravensburger Puzzles,
Maureen Burns, MD of Distinkt Cards, said: “It’s been an honour to work with Historic Royal Palaces, and a joy to create such beautiful stationery that takes its inspiration from the magnificent palaces.”
Their first collection to launch in January 2016 features a design inspired by the magnificent gilt-patterned ceiling that decorates Cardinal Wolsey’s apartments at Hampton Court Palace.
The collection is also inspired by the beauty of the Hampton Court Palace Rose which ties into Historic Royal Palaces’ overall celebration of the gardens there in 2016, which will involve a host of events and exhibitions.
Ravensburger have produced three puzzles under licence, one taking elements from the 500 years of Hampton Court Palace and two Tower Of London versions.
There’s a 1,000-piece one for adults and an educational one for children which includes illustrations of the Royal Menagerie plus Guy Fawkes and dastardly thief Colonel Blood.
Emma Saunders, Historic Royal Palaces Retail Business Development Manager, said: “We are very excited to be working with these two licensees. Both have been inspired by our palace collections to create commercial designs and products for today’s market.”
