Starting with expansion

Established brand become new agency’s first clients

RACHEL Ellen Designs have become the first company to appoint Melanie Humberstone-Garley’s brand-new independent agency MHG Licensing to represent them.

Founder Rachel said: “We are very excited to start working with Mel who, apart from having a wealth of experience within the licensing industry, has a real understanding of the potential of what we have to offer and, above all, great enthusiasm and genuine interest in the Rachel Ellen brand.”
Former professional ballet dancer Rachel began painting greetings card designs at her Nottingham kitchen table in 1997.
The company has now grown to employ more than 25 staff producing a range of British-manufactured greetings cards and stationery featuring her quirky and recognisable characters, and Rachel Ellen licensed products have a strong retail presence in more than 25 territories across the world, and are particularly popular in Japan.
Mel is a licensing industry expert who has previously worked in senior commercial roles at some of the world’s leading licensors and licensing agents including, most recently, ITV Studios, Chorion, The Copyright Group and Entertainment Rights.
Mel said: ”At last I’ve taken a great leap of faith and have launched my very own licensing agency – MHG Licensing. I’m now up and running with my first client Rachel Ellen Designs.
“I’m delighted to be able to work with Rachel and expand on the licensing success to date and move into new product categories especially softlines, apparel and potentially publishing.”
