Birds fly to Vegas

Stuart’s feathered creations taking off for Licensing Expo in the US

THE British contingent will be flying into Las Vegas next week as I Like Birds designs are about to hit the Licensing Expo.

The brand which started life as creator Stuart Cox’s greetings cards is now going global with licensing agents JELC showing off the designs at the annual show at the Mandalay Conference Center in Las Vegas, from Tuesday to Thursday, May 22-24, where they will be on Beanstalk’s stand G156 .
Since being one of the finalists in the License This! competition at Brand Licensing Europe in 2016, I Like Birds now have four key licensees on board – The Art File for greetings cards, BrownTrout for calendars and diaries, stationery with Quadrille, and the My Gifts Trade ceramics, textiles, coasters and doormats which were shortlisted for Gift Of The Year 2008.
And leading up to their US trip, JELC have announced that The Art File have launched their greetings range in America, with orders also coming in from France and several other European countries and they have plan in place to expand the collection plus add gift bags and wrap.
They have also signed a sub-agency agreement with Home Made Licensing in France who are well into discussions with their first licensee for the French and Benelux markets.
JELC MD Jane Evans said: “I first saw I Like Birds as a judge on the panel for License This! and I knew straight away it had the originality, quality and commercial potential to take it to a whole new level. We’re delighted to have such strong, committed partners on board and see the licensing programme really take off – 2018 looks to be an exciting year.”
