Public vote sees three greetings stores vying for most dog-friendly shop title

IT’S A triple whammy on the greetings front for this year’s Most Dog-Friendly Shop award with Austin & Co hoping to make it five wins on the paw, but Cardies and Seasons are definitely in with a chance.

The trio of greetings and gift shops make up the finalists in the 2018 category of the competition where all the nominations and votes for the 20 awards come from the public.
Nessa the chocolate lab and Sean Austin already have four consecutive wins under their dog collars with the trophies on display at the shop in Great Malvern, while Jo Sorrell and Orberry and Big Ben at Cardies in Stevenage were nominees last year.
And at Seasons, their near-neighbours on the Hertfordshire town’s High Street, Faye Cowen and King the Hungarian vizler are finalists for the first time, and they’ll find out who has won at the awards ceremony next Saturday, October 20, at Excel in London.
Faye said: “It’s all because of people’s votes. Thank you all so much – and the added cherry on top is that Cardies are also finalists, a double whammy for our beautiful High Street!”
The annual DogFriendly Awards are the public’s opportunity to recognise and reward dog-friendly places and pet businesses that go the extra mile for the benefit of the UK’s 9.4million canines and their owners.
The organisers, Dog Friendly Books, said: “It’s been our biggest year ever. The finalists are those that have received the most votes from customers and followers in their category – a truly democratic competition.”
