Donations see online retailers help homeless women find their feet

ONLINE retailers Running Cards UK will donate a percentage of their Christmas card sales this year to A Mile In Her Shoes this winter, the charity who help homeless women find their feet through fitness.

For every festive card sold 40p will help A Mile in Her Shoes (www.amileinhershoes.org.uk) deliver new and improved fitness activities for women at refuges and homeless support centre across London and beyond, with customers able to make a larger donation at the checkout if they wish.
Passionate runner Rachel Job established Running Cards UK after being frustrated there were no designs to celebrate running achievements or wish fellow runners good luck before a race. Just over one year later the range has been expanded to include cycling cards as well as running-themed prints and mugs.
“This is the perfect tie-up for Christmas,” Rachel said, “and we look forward to donating to a cause so close to our own hearts and to those of our customers. I’m pleased to be able to use the popularity of our brand among runners, their friends and families to raise awareness of this brilliant charity at Christmas.”
Nicola Miller set up the charity in 2013 to bring together the health and other benefits of running with improving social inclusion opportunities for women affected by homelessness and related disadvantages.
She added: “We’re thrilled to be partnering with a brand that uses fun and humour to encourage people of all abilities to reach their fitness goals.”
