Ethical points from Jeremy

GA’s chairman set for two presentations as part of Spring Fair seminar programme

WITH modern trade fairs about far more than simply seeing what products are on offer, the seminar programme has something for everyone at this year’s Spring Fair.

And with ethics and sustainability key words for both retailers and consumers these days, Jeremy Corner’s presentation covers much of what both shops and suppliers need to know.
Blue Eyed Sun founder and current chairman of The Giftware Association, Jeremy will be speaking twice on The Rise Of The Ethical Consumer And Adapting To The Growth Of The Green Economy.
As part of the seminar programme at the UK’s largest greetings and gift trade fair, which runs from Sunday to Thursday, February 3-7, Jeremy will be on the Main Stage on the opening day at 1.15pm and the final day at 10.30am.
His speech covers why customers care about how ethical your products are and how green your business is, including understanding what promotes people to make ethical choices, charting the increase in sales of ethical products, meeting the need for information around ethical products and services, and reflecting the trend in your store.
Also on the Main Stage, on Wednesday at 12.15pm, Greetings Today columnist Henri Davis covers Gift Market Trends Affecting Independent Retailers In 2019.
The independent retail advisor and deputy chairman of The Giftware Association will explain how there is so much more to consider than simply design trends, with social and economic issues affecting the market and influencing what shoppers are buying, and you can use this information to help plan your product selection.
This year's Spring Fair plays host to three exciting theatre and workshop spaces, each delivering dedicated retail insight and trend information, and offering thought-provoking seminars and panel discussions all aimed at inspiring and future proofing your buying decisions.
Hear from industry leaders on The Main Stage as they talk about their experiences and passion projects, as well as trend forecasters on what will drive retail in 2019 and beyond.
The Studio is a must-visit for indies who want to see their bricks and mortar shop come out on top among the competition, and the Retail Skills Theatre is full of advice and insights to help your digital shop stand out and succeed – from social media to drop shipping, mastering the online sales environment has never been more important.
