Gushingly good effort

Mantons hand over latest charity cheque as fundraising tops £25,000

MONEY is gushing out at Mantons Cards as the Port Erin retailers’ latest fundraising efforts have taken their total to more than £25,000 for charities and the local community.

Owners Chris and Debbie Beards and the team handed over a £423 cheque to Gush Gush Water Projects run by 10-year-old Lula Brown, who is also based on the Isle Of Man and set up the campaign when she was just seven.
“We raised it selling the book Jeff And The Firefly,” Chris said, “written by the incredible Lula – she’s also raised £25,000 herself to help get clean drinking water to everyone across the world, that’s an amazing achievement at 10.
“We’ve raised the money with a combination of organising fundraising, selling charity cards and products, as well as organising community events.”
