Oliver Bonas buck trend

8 new stores planned to open across UK, expanding estate to 85

OLIVER Bonas are bucking the challenges and decline plaguing the High Street with the announcement of eight new stores slated to open this year.

Retail Gazette reported that the fashion, homeware and gifts retailers’ expansion plan will see the creation of at least eight new jobs and bring their total store estate to 85 by the end of 2019.
The retailers known for their contemporary greetings offer said the expansion is being supported by a £15million revolving credit facility from HSBC UK, allowing them to also invest in new product and develop their in-house design capability.
The first of the new stores will open at Gatwick Airport’s North Terminal, with the retailers eyeing up new markets across the UK for the other seven planned openings stores.
With their core market in London, Oliver Bonas said they have experienced “increasing demand” for stores in new regions, after successful launches in areas including Harborne in Birmingham, Exeter, and Milton Keynes.
“While trade on the high street has been challenging, Oliver Bonas continues to grow,” founder and MD Oliver Tress told Retail Gazette, “we’ve stuck to the core principle that makes our lifestyle offer unique – doing our little bit to make living a joyful experience.”
