2020 Louie Awards open

Promote best of British cards in US GCA’s annual competition

MAKE your mark in the States by entering the Louie Awards – and join the likes of 2019 winners Laura Sherratt to show off the best of British.

The 31st Louie Awards are now open, run by the US Greeting Card Association, with new categories introduced for 2020, and early bird entry fees before November 15.
There were 18 Brits among the 167 finalists for the 55 categories this year, with five going on to triumph – Laura Sherratt (pictured) won Thank You $4 & Below, Think Of Me took Christmas/Seasonal $4 & Below, Ohh Deer picked up Christmas Humorous $4 & Below, Sally Scaffardi won Romantic Occasions $4 & Below, and Lagom Design took Thank You Above $4.
Run by the US GCA, the Louies were launched in 1988 to recognise the most outstanding cards, invitations and announcements sold in the States each year, and are named after Louis Prang, the German-born Boston lithographer credited with inventing the American Christmas card in the late 1870s.
This year’s awards have a San Francisco them, and the finalists will be announced in late February with the US GCA promoting each one through social media and on the internet, with the winners then entered into the Consumer’s Choice competition which is chosen by the public.
