Greetings Today magazine, giving you the bigger picture

Get in early

August Greetings Today issue online now – and extended deadline for September

IT’S AUGUST, still summer but autumn and the approaching festive season are drawing close – and with the early dates for Autumn Fair we have our extensive show preview in the latest issue that can be read online here now.

Turn to page 30 to find out what’s going on at the biggest trade fair of the season, and read all about the naughty boy that is Dean Morris, celebrating 20 years of his eponymous card company.
Moving to a new location within Birmingham’s NEC, Queen Of Shops Mary Portas is heading up the speakers’ roster, and you can connect with a large range of publishers and gift companies to get an early start ready for the upcoming Golden Quarter, including The Art File, Berni Parker, Blue Eyed Sun, the aforementioned Dean, Eco-Friendly Card Co, Emma Ball, Glick, The Handcrafted Card Co, Joe Davies Giftware, Lanther Black, Lesser & Pavey, Pioneer Europe, Pyramid International, and Rush Design.
We also have a long chat with RHS buyer Hazel Small in Talking Shop (p18), and the Spring Seasons & Occasions feature (p20) showcases product from Art By Janice, Mint Publishing, Paperlink, and Wendy Jones-Blackett.
Flame Tree Publishing are among the big names at Top Drawer A/W19 (p54), and we break out the tartan for cover stars Collins-Debden, celebrating 200 years (p14), plus look at Windles’ latest foiling techniques (p53).
And Ellie Bartle, of Tigerlillys in Derbyshire, muses on the exclusivity question in On The Shop Front (p26) while agent Bella Ghale is the guest columnist in It’s All About Sales (p57).
Don’t forget our Spotlight section which is packed with the latest from The Art Group, Enveco, Jonny Javelin, Metallic Elephant, Museums & Galleries, Pigment and Rosanna Rossi.
Plus there are the monthly musings from our regular columnists Henri Davis (p28), John Ryan (p16), Sarah Ward (p59), Chris Fox (p64) our Four Corners retailers (p52), and this issue’s Talk Of The Town contributors Rachael and Gavin at The Baobab, Mortimer Common, and Sarah and Ange at The Dotty House, Gateshead, along with a look back at Home & Gift and our chairman Malcom Naish’s annual Greetings Today Golf Day.
Now then – who wants to get naked with us?! We’re always looking ahead here at Greetings Today and, with the drive to get rid of single-use plastic, publishers are finding ever more ingenious ways such as naked cards, Windles’ Kard Klasp, and M&G’s corner banding, so we’re planning a supplement in our October issue to talk about the issue from all perspectives.
To get involved in this exciting venture please contact advertising manager Simon Davis on 01442 289930, or
Before that we’re turning our attention to the upcoming September magazine where you can let buyers and indie retailers know what you have to offer by appearing in Greetings Today, the largest circulation trade magazine for the greetings industry.
