ShopTalk blogger Harrogate Girl recommends places to visit for show

Victoria Turner is taking part in the festival’s ShopTalk programme under her Instagram personalities of Harrogate Girl and Betty’s Harrogate, and is also featured on their website with a guide to exploring the town.
As one of the panellists on Sunday, July 14, the opening day of the four-day show organised by Clarion Events, Victoria is taking part in the half-hour Master Your Social Media: The Essential Social Media Toolkit – Instagram session at 3pm, along with Coffee Work Sleep social media coach Morgana Loze-Doyle Millie Rawsthorne, Loved By Millie; Lucy Playford, Harrogate Mama, and Elisha Ainsley, Elisha Blogs.
In her blog, which can be read here https://homeandgift.co.uk/news/the-harrogate-girls-guide, she mentions “fantastic independents lining the streets of Harrogate – this is what makes Harrogate a unique place to visit”, and among the recommended places to eat is the institution that is Bettys.
Victoria said: “Over 100 years Bettys Café Tearooms have serving tea and cake in this town. Freshly made each morning and with views across Montpellier hill it’s the perfect place to grab an early morning breakfast before the fair starts or end with afternoon tea.”
The 59th Home & Gift Buyers’ Festival runs from Sunday to Wednesday, July 14-17, at the town’s convention centre and on the lawns of the Majestic Hotel.
With beautiful illustrations, witty quotes, bold prints and gorgeous colours, the greetings and stationery offer across the festival has designs and styles to suit everyone.
Exhibitors include Artebene, The Art File, Berni Parker Designs, Blue Eyed Sun, Dandelion Stationery, The Handcrafted Card Co, Joe Davies, Leonard Smith, Natural Partners, Pigment Productions, and Redback Cards.
The festival will also see the official launch of the 2020 Gift Of The Year competition by the Giftware Association, the largest awards in the industry which span 20 categories including for giftware, greetings cards, wrap, gift stationery, homeware, and personal fashion.
And, alongside the 90-plus publishers attending, there are seven other sectors –
Craft (new), Design-Led Gift, Design Now (new), Gift, Greetings & Stationery, Home & Interiors, Jewellery & Fashion, and Taste (new), with the new ShopTalk attraction based in Hall Q.
