Wraptious’ tree-mendous project

10,000 trees planted already as publishers step up environmental commitment

REDUCING environmental impact is key at Wraptious and they’ve taken their commitment to the planet one step further, now planting three trees for every online order received.

Working with partners Trees For The Future, the Stockport-based publishers and online retailers company who champion artists have already had 10,000 trees planted this year and they’re aiming to hit the 100,000 mark as soon as possible.
Founder Simon Wadsworth said: “I've always been keen at Wraptious to try to reduce our environmental impact – recycling in the office, donating old stock to charity, cycling to work and using energy-efficient bulbs, or printing our cards on FSC-sustainable card.
“We've now also began partnering with a wonderful not-for-profit organisation called Trees For The Future, who are working to end hunger and poverty while empowering communities and women.
“They help small farmers by revitalising degraded lands, this is done through strategic tree planting, which creates sustainable food sources, livestock feed, products to sell, wood for fuel and the farmers see a 400 per cent increase in their annual income in four years.
“So far they have planted a whopping 160million trees around the planet.
“We've decided to plant three trees for every order a customer places online – even if it's just a single greetings card. We hope our customers will feel like they’re making a difference too, not just in supporting independent artists, but to offset their purchase.”
And Wraptious have also recently set up their tech offices in Nairobi, Kenya, where Simon and relationship manager Lisa will be travelling in October to meet the new team as well as visit Trees For The Future.
There’s more about the project on their website www.about.wraptious.com/trees and Simon, pictured from the short video (see below) where he talks about the tree-planting project, added: “We’ll see the trees we've planted for ourselves, and we're looking forward to sharing our progress, and the work of this fantastic charity!
“I urge other companies to look into Trees For The Future and consider if it is something they may be interested in supporting too.”
