Cards make top 10 retailers

Good news for Card Factory and Waterstones in Which? survey of best and worst High Street stores

CARD SELLERS have featured at both ends of the scale in the Which? annual survey of shops with Card Factory and Waterstones in the top 10 while WHSmith came second from bottom.

The survey asked more than 10,000 shoppers about their shopping experience at 100 major retailers giving scores based on satisfaction and the likelihood of recommending each shop – and revealed those people should avoid.
The report, revealed on Saturday, May 13, showed Morrisons fared worst, coming bottom, while DIY store Toolstation came joint top for the second year running, this time with Richer Sounds after sharing the honour with John Lewis last year.
Book retailers Waterstones, where 18 per cent of their sales come from greetings, return to the top five for the first time since 2014, on the back of recent news that book sales reached a record £3.5billion last year.
Paperchase are also on the list at joint 32nd, while Clintons are joint 88th.
Richard Headland, editor of Which? magazine, said: “The best retailers, Richer Sounds and Toolstation, continue to strike the right balance by selling quality products at reasonable prices. It’s a simple formula, but that’s why they consistently score well with shoppers in the Which? survey.”

The best rated shops on the UK High Street are:

6 = Apple & Bodycare – 78 per cent
