Danilo’s double delight

Licensed specialists pick up second awards nomination for Ladybird Books For Grown-Ups range

DANILO have picked up their second accolade in a week for their Ladybird Books For Grown-Ups greetings cards, with a finalists’ place in the Licensing Awards.

Already nominated in the Henries 2017 Best Licensed Cards category, Danilo have now been named as one of six nominees for the Best Licensed Paper Products Or Stationery Range, up against Blueprint Collections, Blue Sky Studios, Hallmark, Pyramid International and UK Greetings.
Carte Blanche’s Me To You property is vying for the Best Teen Or Adult Licensed Property, while Card Factory are one of the six finalists in the Radar Award for retailers who have considerably increased their licensing activities over the past year.
More than 150 finalists have been selected across the 25 awards in five categories for the awards, which are supported by the Licensing Industry Manufacturers’ Association, and have Brand Licensing Europe as the headline sponsors.
The winners will be announced on September 12 at the ceremony in the Great Room at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel where 1,400 licensors, licensees and retailers are expected to attend.
BLE brand director Anna Knight said: “We’re delighted to be headline sponsors for the Licensing Awards 2017. As retail sales as a whole continue to decline, sales of licensed product are bucking this trend.
“As the sector matures, licensing is expanding to more sectors and more territories – and brand owners, licensors and retailers are becoming increasingly creative and innovative with the products they are creating and selling.”
The full list of nominees is below, the five categories are:
● Retailer Awards – for retailers of licensed merchandise.
● Product Awards – for ranges of licensed products.
● Property Awards – for specific licensed properties.
● Marketing Communication Award – for a specific licensing marketing promotion.
● LIMA UK Rising Star Award – for the global leaders of tomorrow.
